Hayat Holding President of the Wood Group

Born in 1962 in Rize, Prof. Dr. Davut Kavranoğlu received his bachelor’s degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from Technical University of Istanbul (İTÜ) in 1984, and both his master’s (1986) and Ph.D. (1989) degrees in Electrical Engineering from the California Institute of Technology (CALTECH).

He has held several high-level public positions, including Deputy Minister at the Republic of Turkey Ministry of Science, Industry and Technology, and Chief Advisor to the President of Turkey on Science, Technology, Education, and Industry.

Between 2020 and 2025, Prof. Dr. Kavranoğlu served as Chairman of the Board at Geoxon, a San Francisco–based company. He also currently serves as Chairman of the Board of the Knowledge Economy Association of Türkiye.

He was appointed President of the Wood Group at Hayat Holding on September 15, 2025.
